  • Dude, I just watched this 80s movie called "Escape From New York," and I think this is where Hideo Kojima got his inspiration for Snake in the Metal Gear Solid series.  First off, the main character looks just like MGS Snake. He's got the stubble and the mullet. He even wears Big Boss' eyepatch. Next, he smokes. Um... yeah. The character even talks like Snake. And then we come to the name. The movie's main character's name is, get this, Snake Plisskin. Snake Plisskin! OMFG!!! Go and see this movie right now! Especially if you are a Metal Gear Solid fan!

  • Dude, I knew that before I even heard of metal gear solid.
    Snake Plisskin
    Solid Snake...

    US special forces dude...
    Yeah.

  • You just now saw that Movie?

Anyway, it was pretty clear, especially in MGS 2 where he uses the alias Iroquois PLisken. With Iroquois being a native american word for snake, hence Snake Plisken.
