Month: December 2005

  • I am now in Virginia. Actually, I have been since the 22nd. Now, however, I have a house and an internet connection. I live approximately an hour-and-a-half from Aberdeen (w00t). This actually makes the possibility of seeing my homies occasionally a reality.

I spent my Christmas in a hotel room. It's not as bad as it sounds, since I got to open my gifts. As per tradition, let me give you a run-down of my spoils...

~ Resident Evil 4 (PS2) - This game is actually fairly decent. The graphics are excellent and the story is decent. The controls are a little weak, but my main peeve is that it isn't really that scary. I was expecting an edge of my seat "survival-horror" game, but all I'm seeing is an action title. Oh well. Good game nonetheless.

~ Azumanga Daioh Box Set (DVD) - Now I don't have to bug Stephen to borrow these anymore!

    ~ Scorpions: The Best of, (CD) - Scorpions = t3h w00tn3$$

~ A Box of Sudoku Puzzles (Box o' stuff) - It comes in a range of difficulty levels and comes with four pre-sharpened pencils.

~ Clothes - Not even a Hawaiian shirt. I'm depressed.

Hope all of your Christmases... s... Christmas to the plurizzle were good! I wonder what I am going to watch entering the New Year...

  • Only a few days left until the inevitable move...

On another note, I was going to fill this space with a long rant about my feelings on the War Against Christmas, but I am just too lazy to type it all. So I will give a brief summary on my thoughts.

War Against Christmas = stupid. I do not care whether people say "Merry Christmas" or "Happy Holidays." I, personally, avoid both and say "have a nice day." I think "Happy Holidays" makes more sense, however, since Christmas and New Years are two holidays. Hence the plurality (like that word? I just made it up now) of the phrase. I also think that there should be a UN for religions. A United Religions (UR), if you will. The only problem is that nothing will be accomplished... for various reasons.

Those are my thoughts. If I had typed the longer version I had written up before, it would have been slightly funnier and far longer. Oh well. I doubt the people who read my blog would have the patience to read through all of my crap anyway. No offense. Peace.

  • Y'know, looking back I think that my last post was one of my more serious. I mean, I really did wonder about that. I better balance it out with something silly. So, without further ado, here is a picture of a bag of Doritos... enjoy...

Oh, and here's something else that's funny. I only just today got the pun with Colonel Corn. He's a kernel Colonel! ROFL!
  • I have work for the rest of my days here in South Carolina... bleh...

In other news... there is no real other news. There is something I have been wondering about, though. Just what is the Christian God's name? One of the commandments* made me wonder this. I mean, God is not really a name. It's more of a thing He is. You can't really say His name is Lord, because that's a title. Jesus is this God's son and isn't really the god. He's more of a messiah or savior. I dunno. If I'm not busted for that sin, I'll probably be screwed on something else. Whatever...

*VII: Thou shalt not take the name of the Lord thy God in vain; for the Lord will not hold him guiltless that taketh His name in vain.

  • Today, I am doing something that I have hardly ever done. I am actually going to review some things. I will review all of the films that I have watched in my Film as Art class, first. Then I will review a book that I highly recommend. It is called The Shroud of the Thwacker, by Chris Elliot. Go and buy that book ASAP. It is an excellent book and should be read by all who frequent my blog... all two of you. If I have time, I might review some more things. Peace!

edit: I think I'll throw in some manga reviews too. For good measure, of course.

  • Sorry I haven't been updating much.  I'm sure my previous post kind of speaks for itself.  My first college semester is almost up and all of the things I've been procrastinating on have caught up with me.  But I have a little bit of time now, so let me get you up to date.

During Thanksgiving break, I visited my grandma.  So did most all of my family.  There were literally four generations crammed into my grandma's tiny apartment.  It was alot of fun.  But none of you really care about that.

More importantly, I got a new graphics card for my piece-of-crap computer. It's nothing much really, but it's a vast improvement from my old card (nothing).  At least now I can play Rise of Nations on it, play Jedi Knight II sans lag, and play Civilization II... um... with a new graphics card. I can also churn out more essays in about the same amount of time as it took without a graphics card!

In other news, Lego Star Wars = t3h roXor o' t3h boXorz. I will be moving to Virginia officially on Dec. 22. I'm getting Sims 2 for Christmas (sorry, that's "generic winter holiday." stupid ACLU). Lastly, I will be joining the Black Panthers on Dec. 14 (okay, that one was a lie).

Peace out for now. Hope you all have a Merry Generic Winter Holiday!

  • Argh! So much to do, so little time to do it!
