  • Squirrel Punting

Let us talk, for a moment, about squirrels. Specifically, I wish to speak about their peculiar behavior on my college campus. Most squirrels that I know are exceptionally cautious. If I try to approach one, they dart in the opposite direction at roughly 72 mph until they have covered a distance of about fifteen-hundred yards then abruptly stop (this can’t be good for their back). If the opportunity presents itself, they would even shoot up a tree just to put as much distance between it and me as possible. The squirrels here at George Mason, however, are more like city pigeons. They don’t move for anything. I can walk within a few feet of one, and he would not even look up from his acorn. I think the constant interaction with overly liberal college students have given them a false sense of security. I could probably even kick one and it would look at me like a child just smacked in the back of his head for the first time (cue the dramatic piano strike). This could potentially prove an entertaining college sport, squirrel punting. I’ll have to try and develop that one.

  • Yeah, it's pretty much the same thing here, the squirrels don't move for anything, even if they are about to be hit by one of those grounds-keeping karts.

  • YEAH it's totally like that at Towson too.  I'm not sure why.  But most of the time, you get out of their way because of that "nothing can stop me" look in their eyes.

  • Yeah when i lived in Benicia, a horrid place, they literally had HUGE squirrels, and they were totally tame. You could pet them and shit sometimes they would even beg for food, they were the weirdest squirrels ever.

At my campus there are tons of dear, all over and they dont care if there is a bus speeding down the the road they just sit here staring.

  • I really missed your blog!

Tears aside, I think it'd be hilarious idea and I can just imagine the scenes in my head. Although they are kinda cute, it'd kinda fun to prod them with a stick or something and see what they do. I personally like seeing their tails wiggle when they run - maybe that can be a focus...hmm...got to do more thinking on that.

  • In regards to you post about video games being sexy - have you ever played Red Ninja? I'm absolutely terrible at it but it's pretty good from what I got up to. There's a pretty good story line and the graphics and attention to detail is amazing. I'm sure that most guys would get a hard on when they see the character on-screen because she's so pretty and when she swims and stuff you get to see her panties so I guess guess would be exploding left, right and center whilst they're playing.
