While I was sitting in the library waiting for class to begin, I was thinking about words (because I have a very fruitful sex life). Specifically, I was wondering what ever happened to the word “gruntled”. I mean, it should technically exist. The word “disgruntled” is often used (especially around my office), and it is my assumption that the dis- prefix just means the opposite of the word it’s attached to (please, don’t correct me if I’m wrong). For example, you have discontented negating contented (another common one around the office), dishonesty negating honesty (again, my office), and disobey negating obey (will be occurring in my office very shortly). The logical conclusion would be that disgruntled simply negates gruntled. But, as WinWord is so kindly pointing out, the word doesn’t exist. I checked my dictionary, and it appears that somebody silenced Webster too. What is it about this word that makes it taboo? Am I dooming the world to destruction just by questioning it? No! I refuse to accept such a fate for an innocent word. I propose… a multinational Coalition of the Willing™ to bring back the word gruntled (we need a cool acronym, too). We shall face the angry fates head on and demand the return of this valued word. Who cares if it sounds less like a contented adjective and more like the sounds you make first thing in the morning? We cannot allow the destruction of words to continue. Dieu li volt!

The parts in parentheses made me lol. XD
How about the Coalition of Disgruntled Gruntle Enthusiasts? CODGE for short. And we can have a lodge somewhere to talk about it and we can call that the CODGE Lodge of Hodgepodge thinking.
Possibly the Only Western Educational Residence For Organizing the Reintroduction of Classical Expressions =
POWER FORCE
That, in short, means we want gruntled back. I'm quite proud of that name XD but you would have to give me the benefit of the doubt on "gruntled" being a classical expression in the sense that it was, at one point in time, used frequently. Small price to pay for the acronym though.
CODGE and the CODGE lodge is awesome XD
@XxplasmadragonxX - I never would have guessed POWER FORCE! Awesome! lol Perhaps the CODGE Lodge can be a branch of POWER FORCE since it would appear to be focused on more than just one non-word. I'm thinking we'll be needing some silly hats, too.
@XxplasmadragonxX - @WAR_ON_ERROR - You two are the kind of people who made being in the military a pain in the ass.
@WAR_ON_ERROR - Thanks! It took a little time to come up with, but for some reason when i first read the post I had the word "power" come to mind and I knew I really wanted that to be part of the acronym. I didn't expect it to work and I had to use a thesaurus for the last two mundane words: "Classical" = historical or old and "Expressions" = words XD. I was rather inspired by your use of words though and I am greatly honored to house such an organization within my own.
@Andrea_TheNerd - I'm so very sorry XD. Please do let me know if there is a position available for mission naming (and that alone) - I'd be interested in applying.
@Andrea_TheNerd - :p
@XxplasmadragonxX - I had to ponder a while on mine as well. But such an important issue deserved attention. I'm glad you agree.
